Okay, in the winter we are usually deprived of style because of the cold weather. We always go out for picnics, parties, holidays, etc. where being in fashion is like mandatory!
So here is an easy DIY solution for your problem. And the best part, it’s very cheap as well.
Materials you'll need:
1. A plastic bottle
2. Curb chain
3. 2 pairs of shoe laces
4. A small matching charm
5. Jump rings
6. A punching machine
7. A cooking dish
8. And your stove.
So, let’s start.
1. Firstly you need to cut at least 10 pieces of plastic from the bottle in whichever shape you want. I have cut them in the shape of leaves.
2. Now you need to punch each of them randomly. But yes, one thing, make one hole at the top of every piece for passing the chain.
3. Now place all of them in a cooking dish and heat them up in your stove for at least 2 minutes. It can be more, depending on the thickness of the plastic. Heat them up until they get distorted.
4. Let them cool.
5. Now get your chain and add jump rings to it. You need 3 of them. 1 each for the two ends of the chain and another one in anywhere you want along the length of the chain, more preferably towards the end of the chain. (Refer to the picture up there for guidance.)
6. Now fetch your shoe laces and join them in a pair with two of the jump rings by making LARK’S HEAD knot. That means, there has to be 2 laces in one ring which makes it 4 after making the knot. These two rings are: one which is in the chain and another one is the one which is opposite to it.
7. Now make a four- strand braid in each of the cluster of the laces. Secure the start of the braids with cotton or any other yarn of matching color.
8. To secure the necklace at the back, make an overhand knot at the end of one of the braid and a loop at the end of the other one. Now your necklace is secured at the back.
9. And the final step. One end of chain is still left with a jump ring in it. Get your charm and add it to the ring.
10. YOU’RE DONE!
Have fun making this easy necklace. Ciao!
